Richard Stebbins, Ph.D., J.D., CFP® ®®®®
Dr. Stebbins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Consumer Sciences at the University of Alabama. He started his career working in the financial planning profession where his clients inspired him to pursue a career in academia. Prior to joining the Capstone, Dr. Stebbins taught for Texas Tech University, the College for Financial Planning, Texas A&M University, and others. He is dedicated to educating and empowering students to become knowledgeable and effective financial planning professionals.
Dr. Stebbins' research focuses on financial well-being and behavior. He has published extensively in academic and law journals, including the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning, Financial Services Review, and the Journal of Family and Economic Issues. He has also presented research at a variety of academic conferences, including the American Council on Consumer Interests, the Academy of Financial Services, and the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education. Dr. Stebbins has been recognized for his research contributions with multiple national awards. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Financial Services.
